S[elling, reading and writing activity books for primary school age children. 

Writen by local author Sandra Pyne along with her colleague Barbara Phillips. They have years of experience teaching English and English as a second language, and have written these resource books to support childrens learning at home. 

 

Book 1 has over 135 words to boost spelling, reading, writing and word power. It's perfect practice for learners of English as a first language who are beginning to match letters and sounds. It is also great for for learners of English as a second or foreign language becasue even if they can already read above beginner level, they will still learn lots of new words. The focus of this activity book is three-letter words with the middles vowels a, e, i, o and u.

 

Book 2 has over 110 words to boost spelling, reading writing and word power. IT's perfect practice for learners of English as a first language who can read two sounds together at the beginning or end of a word. It's also great for learners of English as a second or foreign language who may already be able to read above beginner level becasue they will still learn lots of new words. The focus of activity book 2 is on the sounds two letters make together at the beginning and end of words, like the sh in shop or the st in best.

 

Activity book 3 has over 135 words to boost spelling, reading and writing and word power. It's perfect practice for learners of English as a first languag or English as a second or foreign language. The focus of activity book 3 is on 1) same letters that make different sounds, 2) different letters that make the same sounds, 3) words that are easy to confuse like where and were, and 4) words which are hard to spell like said and could.

 

Activity book 4 has over 180 words to boost spelling, reading, writing and word power. It's perfect practice for learners of English as a first language or English as a second or foreign language. The focus is on different groups of letters that make the same sound. Some of these include the aw in claw and the al in chalk or the y in sky and the igh in night. By clearly showing the vowel sounds in bold print, book 4 is helpful to all learners, but its especially helpful to those on the dyslexia spectrum who often find these alternative vowel sounds challenging. 

 

Activity book 5,has over 345 words to boost spelling, reading, weiting and word power. The perfect pracitce for learners of English as a first language or English as a second or foreign language. The focus includes 1) silent letters like the l sound in salmon or the g in design. 2) word endings that sound similar but have different spellings, like the  el in jewel and the al in typical 3 word endings that sound the same but have different spellings, like the -cian in musician, the tion in fiction, the sion in decision and the ssion in permission 4) words that sound the same but have different spellings and different meanings like flour and flower and 5) words that are hard to spell like trouble and foreign

 

Book 6 has over 270 words to boost spelling, reading, writing and word power. It's the perfect practice for learners of English as a first language and English as a second or foreign language. The focus includes 1) words that are easy to misspell 2) words that are easy to confuse 3) American or British spellings 4) prefixes that make the opposite meaning of a word, like anti- and ill- 5) words that end in o and their plurals.
